Sergachev Scores 2 in Victory Over Saginaw

Shalapata-Header(WINDSOR, ON) – The Windsor Spitfires skated to a 5-1 victory over the Saginaw Spirit at home on Sunday.

Aaron Luchuk, Jalen Chatfield, Cristiano DiGiacinto, and two from Mikhail Sergachev notched markers for Windsor while Hayden Hodgson tallied the lone goal for Saginaw. Sergachev also added an assist in the win.

Mike DiPietro stopped 26 shots for his 20th win of the season. Brendan Bonello faced 41 shots between the pipes in the Saginaw goal.

The Spits are in Kitchener tomorrow night for a rematch of their January 12 affair, a 3-2 shootout win for Windsor. They’re back in town on January 19 to face-off against the Ottawa 67s.
