Lakers Edge Out Kings

KINGSVILLE – The Greater Metro Junior ‘A’ Hockey League rivalry between the Kingsville Kings and the London Lakers continues. Sunday afternoon, the back-and-forth game saw the visiting Lakers win in a shootout 6-5. A week earlier, also in Kingsville, it was the Kings on top 5-3.

Defenceman Jakub Mecir led the hosts this past Sunday with a pair of goals while Ondrej Tomek had one of his best efforts of the season with three assists.

The Kings, who managed 29 shots on net in the middle period, also received goals from Jaomir Vicek, Tyler Garcia, and Blake Naida.

Kingsville will take its 24-6-0-4 record against the visiting Toronto Predators this upcoming Sunday. Game time at the Castle is 3:00pm.
