Road Trip Earns Upset Win For Saints

(WINDSOR, ON) – The St Clair men’s volleyball team earned a big split on the road this past weekend when then travelled to Hamilton and Welland.

Saturday night, the Saints took on the Mohawk Mountaineers and had a solid match, but ended up falling to the Mountaineers 3-0. Set scores for Mohawk were 25-19, 25-18, and 25-21.

Mohawk is currently ranked 2nd in the OCAA and 7th in Canada.

Sunday afternoon, St Clair was in Welland to take on the Niagara Knights. The Saints played well against a strong Niagara team and came away with a tough 3-1 upset win.

Game scores for St Clair were 25-21, 22-25, 25-18, and 25-21. Niagara, who dropped to 7-5 on the season, are ranked 6th in the OCAA.

With the weekend split, the Saints are now 6-6 this year and in hold 7th  place. The Saints, however, are only 1 win out of fourth place in a very tight OCAA West Division. The men are currently ranked 9th  in the OCAA.

The men are next in action this Saturday when they host the Humber Hawks at 3:00pm at the Sportsplex.
