(TORONTO, ON) – On the road for the first match this season, Windsor TFC picked up an away point after a 2-2 draw with Sanjaxx Lions at Monarch Park Stadium. The Stars went about it the hard way, however, staking the Lions to a 2-nil lead before half time.

Hiliard Serrao opened the scoring in the 29th minute and was followed just 2 minutes later by Antonio Downey as a breakdown plagued Windsor TFC’s defenders. Awarded a penalty kick, Celso Carapau struck his 3rd goal of the season to bring Windsor to within one of Sanjaxx before the half ended to recover some sense of decorum.

Four minutes into the 2nd frame Carapau drew Windsor even with the Lions to register his second 2-goal game in three matches. A half hour later, Windsor keeper Kyle Vizirakis preserved the tie when he denied Serrao in close.

After 4 minutes of extra time, the teams left the pitch with a point apiece.
