WinTFC Academy Draws At Home

(WINDSOR, ON) – Windsor TFC Academy hosted London Marconi at Academie Ste Cecile Sunday afternoon in League 3 play. Despite dominating possession over 90 minutes, Windsor settle for a 2-2 result.

WinTFC had multiple scoring opportunities and took advantage when Max Cooney scored from a corner kick, one of four the home side had in the 1st half alone.

Windsor’s second goal came from the foot of Paul Di Meo when he struck a low shot to the opposite post. Di Meo was seeing extra soccer action after being called up by the senior club for the League 1 match against Toronto FC III on Saturday.

London’s goals came from a set play on a corner kick as well as from a breakaway. Windsor was lucky to draw after Marconi failed to convert on a penalty kick. Windsor’s Markus Aguiar was credited with the draw in goal.

The last time the two sides met was May 14 in the finals of the 2017 Kickoff Cup, in Tillsonburg, when Windsor prevailed 4-1.

Windsor TFC Academy’s next match will be at home on June 17 when they host Waterloo United. Kick off is at 4:00pm.
