Giants Sweep Monarchs

​(FLAT ROCK, MI) – The St Clair Green Giants continued their winning ways in Flat Rock, MI, Tuesday evening after beating the Lake Erie Monarchs for the second straight night, by a score of 9-3. Starting pitcher Hunter Brown recorded his first win of the season, going 6 innings, giving up 2 unearned runs, and striking out 3 in what was a solid outing on the hill.

The Green Giants newest addition, Stephen Rausa, threw 2.2 innings in relief, giving up 1 earned run with a strike out and a base on balls.

Offensively, it was another first for the franchise as Jalen Thomas crushed the first home run in Green Giants history. Thomas finished 2-3 with a home run and 3 RBI’s to lead the team to yet another impressive offensive display. He has 10 RBIs and is currently tied for the league lead with team mate Nick Howie.

The Green Giants sit atop the Northern Division with a 6-2 record and a 1.5 game cushion over the Irish Hills Leprechauns.

St Clair will continue their road trip in Adrian, MI, Wednesday night when they face the Leprechauns at Siena Heights University.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm.
