Church To Oversee Basketball At Indigenous Games

Royal Church basketball(WINDSOR, ON) – Windsor native and basketball coach Royal Church has been appointed Chair of the basketball component of the forthcoming 2017 North American Indigenous Games, to be held in Toronto. The competition, which is affectionately referred to as the Native Olympics, will begin July 15 and conclude a week later on July 22.

Church will oversee 62 teams from across North America at three different basketball venues. The facilities will include York University and the Hoopdome, in North York, and Etobicoke’s Humber College. For Church, this will be his fourth such appointment. He has also chaired basketball competitions for the Ontario Games, Pan Am Games, and the Basketball Canada National Championships.
