(TECUMSEH, ON) – The St Clair Green Giants maintained their half-game wildcard lead over the the Grand River Loggers with a 13-2 win over the Irish Hills Leprechauns. The offense was locked-in from the first pitch, tallying 16 hits and manufacturing the 13 run outburst.
Conor Mckenna led the way with 4 hits, while Adam Tanoue and Austin Oulds had 3 apiece.
On the hill Austen Bullington tamed the Irish Hills offense, going 6 innings and giving up just 2 runs while striking out 6. Taylor Pappin went the rest of the way, throwing 3 scoreless innings and giving up only 2 base runners.
The Green Giants will wrap up their regular season tonight at Lacasse Park at 7:05pm, against the Leprechauns. As part of St Clair College’s 50th Anniversary Celebration Summer, fans are invited to tonight’s must win season closer.
The Green Giants are hosting Fan Appreciation Night and will be saluting Windsor and Essex County health care workers. There will be giveaways as well as baseball. In addition, Jody Raffoul, Jeff Burrows and the S’Aints will be performing the national anthems.
