(BUFFALO, NY) – William Sirman scored twice as the Spitfires beat the Peterborough Petes 4-1 Sunday at the Ontario Hockey League Preseason Showcase in Buffalo. The win wrapped a perfect weekend following wins over Flint and North Bay.

Mathew MacDougall (2) and Igor Larionov (2) had the other goals, while Adam Timleck responded for the Petes, who were outshot 31-20.

Lucas Patton earned the win in goal, going the distance in his first start of the preseason.

The Spits were off yesterday, but will return to practice today in preparation for a home and home series with the Sarnia Sting September 15 and 16.
