Lions Are Lambs As Saints Prevail 3-0

(WINDSOR, ON) – The St Clair men’s soccer team continued their OCAA schedule yesterday when they took on the Lambton Lions at the Main Campus Field. The men had a strong match and came away with a convincing 3-0 win over the Lions.

Martin Nyul got the Saints on the board early when he scored a nice goal in the 11th minute. Evan Mendonca then put the Saints up 2-nil on a nice header in the 17th minute. Korede Adepitan made it 3-nil in the 26th minute.

The Saints dominated play most of the first half with 15 shot attempts to just 5 for Lambton. St Clair had 7 shots on target while Petur Mar Bernhoft handled both Lions strikes.

The second half was much closer as Lambton pushed hard to even the gap and the Saints sat back and defended their lead. Neither squad could find the back of the net as the shot attempts were even at 8.

Mar Bernhoft earned the win for St Clair and the clean sheet in goal.

The men are currently ranked 5th in the OCAA and improved to 2-0 on the season with the win. They resume their schedule Sunday afternoon at 4pm when they host the Niagara Knights at home.

The St Clair women will take on Lambton on this afternoon at home at 5 pm.
