A Dozen Spits At NHL Camps

(WINDSOR, ON) – The Ontario Hockey League has announced that 160 OHL players have been invited to attend the training camps of National Hockey League teams this season, including 12 from the Windsor Spitfires.

All of the Spitfires are eligible to return to the OHL for the 2017-18 season if they are returned from the camps.

Of the dozen Windsor players, eight went to clubs which selected them in the NHL draft, and four others are free agent invites. Six of the dozen have been signed by NHL clubs to entry-level contracts.

  • Graham Knott, Chicago Blackhawks, 2nd round ’15 – Signed
  • Luke Kutkevicius, Detroit Red Wings, Free agent invite
  • Julius Nattinen, Anaheim Ducks, 2nd round ’15 – Signed
  • Mikhail Sergachev, Tampa Bay Lightning, 1st round ’16 (MTL) – Signed
  • Gabriel Vilardi, Los Angeles Kings, 1st round ’17

Rookie Camp

  • Luke Boka, Carolina Hurricanes, Free agent invite
  • Aaron Luchuk, Vancouver Canucks, Free agent invite
  • Hayden McCool, St. Louis Blues, Free agent invite
