(EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ) – Lions Extend Record To 2-0 With Win Over New York Giants.
The Detroit Lions won their first game on the road against the New York Giants since 2004 taking a 24-10 result at MetLife Stadium, in East Rutherford, NJ, last night. The win over the Giants on Monday Night Football has given the Lions a 2-0 start for the first time since 2011.
The Lions registered 138 rushing yards against the Giants, while in the air QB Matthew Stafford recorded 119 net passing yards. In the first half, Stafford threw two touchdown passes to WR Marvin Jones Jr and TE Eric Ebron. The Jones TD was a 27-yard reception to open the scoring.
With 30 seconds left to play in the 2nd quarter, K Matt Prater kicked a 56-yard field goal to give the Lions a 17-7 lead heading into the half.
Rookie CB Jamal Agnew stretched the Lions lead against the Giants when he returned a punt 88 yards for a score with 12:56 left in the fourth quarter. The punt return give the Lions the final 24-10 margin.
In Week-3 Detroit will be at home to kickoff against the Atlanta Falcons at Ford Field on September 24 at 1pm.
