(TORONTO, ON) – Two Saints have been recognized by the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association for their accomplishments during the week ending Sunday, September 24.
Third-year player Matt Bondy had a strong day at the plate in a doubleheader split against Fanshawe on September 23. Bondy went 2-for-3 and driving in both runs in a 3-2 loss in the curtain raiser. He kept his bat warm for the nightcap by going 4-for-4 and driving in five runs during a 13-0 victory.
Three of Bondy’s hits against Fanshawe were doubles.
Despite the split, St Clair remains atop of the OCAA standings with an 8-2 record.
A hat trick is a great feat. A double hat trick is simply amazing.
St Clair’s third-year forward, Korede Adepitan, accomplished the feat also on September 23, scoring six goals in a 9-1 victory over Mohawk. The offensive outburst lifted Adepitan to the top of the overall OCAA scoring leaders with eight on the season.
He and the Saints men’s soccer team take their talents to Ancaster this weekend with games at Redeemer and Mohawk.
