(OSHAWA, ON) – The Kingsville Kings hockey club spent their Thanksgiving Monday on the road, laying out a 7-1 beating on the Oshawa Riverkings. With the win, Kingsville improves to an 8-2-0 record and jumps into second place in the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League’s South Division.
The Kings led by two after the first period in Oshawa with goals by Petr Panacek and Styrmir Maack, however, in the second, Quinn Chevers split the lead with a goal for the Riverkings. Kingsville then blew the game wide open in the final act with singles from Jakub Hendrych, Nicholas Lang, Matyas Mach, Panacek again, and Thomas McKinnon.
Kings goalie Zachary Upplegger made 21 stops for the win while Oshawa’s Brayden Stonehouse turned aside 28 of 35 for the home team.
Kingsville will next be in action on tonight when they stay on the road to meet the Bradford Bulls for the first time in team history. Their next home game is this Saturday when they host the North York Renegades in a neutral site matchup at Tilbury Arena at 7:30pm.
