OCAA Championship Baseball In Tecumseh

(TECUMSEH, ON) – St Clair College is putting the final touches on hosting the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association Men’s Baseball Provincial Championship Tournament this weekend at Lacasse Park in Tecumseh. The event will kick-off with OCAA Championship Awards Banquet at St Clair’s Centre for the Arts campus tonight.

All the participating teams will learn the regular season award winners at that time.

St Clair is the 4-time defending champion of the OCAA and narrowly managed to win its 5th consecutive regular season pennant this fall. he other qualifying schools from Humber, Durham, and Fanshawe are all threats to upset the host.

The double knock-out format will begin play on Friday at 11am with #2 seed Humber College (15-5) facing #3 Durham College (13-7). Top seeded St Clair (14-4) will face #4 Fanshawe College (11-9) at 1:30pm. The entire tournament will be webcast on WE-TV.

Friday, October 20

  • Game 1: #2 Humber vs. #3 Durham – 11am
  • Game 2: #1 St. Clair vs. #4 Fanshawe – 1:30pm
  • Game 3: Losers of Games 1 and 2 – 4pm
  • Game 4: Winners of Games 1 and 2 – 6:30pm

Saturday, October 21

  • OCAA Bronze Medal Game
    Winner of Game 3 vs. Loser of Game 4 – 10:00am
    *Loser awarded Bronze, winner advances to Gold Medal Gam
  • OCAA Gold Medal Game(s)
    Winner of Game 4 vs. Winner of Bronze Medal Game – 1:00pm
    *A second Gold Medal Game will be played at 3:30pm if necessary
