Vipers Shoot Down Stars

(LaSALLE, ON) – Last night, the LaSalle Vipers picked up a win against the visiting St Thomas Stars by a 6-2 margin.

After a scoreless 1st frame, St Thomas’ Curtis Ferreira opened the scoring a minute and thirty three seconds into the 2nd period. However, it only took a minute and a half for Evan Ferguson to strike back and tie the game at 1.

Later in the second, Broden Meloche scored to give the Vipers a 2-1 lead going into the 3rd where Tyler Russell would go on to score 12 seconds in. Surprisingly, just 14 seconds later Hu of the Stars made it a one-goal difference, again.

The Vipers then netted 3 unanswered goals before closing out the game.

Dershahn Stewart tallied his 7th win on the season with 21 saves on 23 shots.

Antonino’s Pizza prizes were up for grabs at last night’s game. Erik Stanlan went home with the 1st place prize of a $20 gift card to Antonino’s, and the second, third and fourth place winners took home two free slices of pizza each.

Next Wednesday the Vipers take on the Chatham Maroons at the Vollmer Complex starting at 7pm. Prior to puck drop, the team will conduct a Remembrance Day observance with the ceremony beginning at 6:45pm.
