Lancers Look To Turn Corner

(WINDSOR, ON) – With 12 games remaining in the regular season for the Lancers women’s basketball team, they find themselves in a familiar position atop the OUA West Division. However, their perch isn’t as comfortable as it has been in recent years as their 9-3 record affords them just a 0.5 game lead over the McMaster Marauders.

The Lancers begun the season with four straight handy victories. A loss to Carleton on November 17 precipitated a 5-3 run with further defeats at the hands of Queen’s and McMaster. To everyone’s relief, Windsor topped Laurier 71-60 in their second game of 2018 to return to their winning ways, and now is the time for the women to string together some confidence building wins.

Windsor will take to the road to face two sub .500 teams in Waterloo (1-12) on Friday and Guelph (6-7) the following evening. The tune-ups will prepare them to host a mid-week match-up with the same Marauders on January 17 at 6pm, and possibly exact some pay-back.

Tickets are just $10 at the door for adults and $8 for seniors and students under 12.
