Time To Leave It On The Court For Lancers

(WINDSOR, ON) – The Lancers men’s basketball program is in the unenvious position in the middle of the OUA West Division with a 4-8 record. Windsor traditionally resides with the divisional top three but have found themselves on the wrong side of some close results.

The Lancers are on a 3-game skid after posting wins over York and Nipissing. A lopsided loss to McMaster to begin the new year, followed by a 7-point defeat at the hands of Laurier highlighted Windsor’s need to return to winning ways lest they miss the playoffs for the first time in recent memory.

They can take some solace in the fact that almost the entire West Division is at or below .500 on the year. Leading the pack at 10-2, the Brock Badgers have a 4-game lead over the 6-6 Western Mustangs. After that things become bleak in the west.

Windsor can turn things around when they visit Waterloo (6-7) this Friday and then the cellar dwelling Guelph Gryphons (3-10) on Saturday. The weekend match-ups will help Windsor to prepare for a mid-week tussle with McMaster (2-11) at the St Denis Centre at 8pm. This stretch of meetings against sub par opponents is a perfect opportunity to build some confidence and make a run for the upper tier of the division and a playoff spot.

Tickets for the January 17 meeting with the Marauders are just $10 at the door for adults and $8 for seniors and students under 12.
