(LONDON, ON) – The St Clair women’s basketball team (10-5) travelled to Kitchener last Saturday and defeated the Conestoga Condors (4-12) by a score of 78-50. In the process, the Saints maintained their 4th place position in the OCAA West Region, which means a home playoff game.
The Lady Saints built an early 20-17 lead after the opening quarter and took the momentum into the halftime intermission with a 38-28 advantage. St Clair put a stranglehold on the game by outscoring Conestoga 18-8 in the 3rd quarter and increased their lead in the 4th to cruise to the win.
St Clair scored 27 points off 22 Conestoga turnovers in the contest.
Shannon Kennedy had another fine game, topping all scorers with 20 points, including 4 triples, and added 7 rebounds for the Saints. Anna Ulicny made 4 triples of her own on her way to 16 points to go with 5 steals.
Twin sister guards, Logan and Jana Kucera, scored 14 and 12 points respectively for the Saints. Logan added 8 rebounds while Jana recorded 5 assists, which led St Clair in those categories.
