(WINDSOR, ON) – Organizers of the 13th annual WESPY awards are confirming that the event will take place, as planned, on Tuesday March 20 at the Caboto Club. This will mark the twelfth time that the event, which honours the Windsor Essex Sports Persons of the Year, has been held at the Caboto Club.
The evening features a banquet, an award ceremony, and a fundraising raffle, along with a live broadcast production.
This year’s keynote speaker, Olympic champion gymnast Nadia Comaneci, has been informed of the recent news reports regarding the Caboto Club and it’s policies. Comaneci remains committed to the event and will connect with an outstanding class of athletes and sports personalities at the WESPY awards, including a number of children from local gymnastic clubs.
“Over the years, thanks to great support from sponsors like the Caboto Club, the WESPY awards ceremony has had the chance to grow into a premier event for Windsor and Essex County,” said Dominic Papa, the founder of the WESPY Awards. He will meet with Caboto Club management after the completion of this year’s event to review the club’s policies.
Tickets for the 13th annual WESPY Awards are now on sale and available at Bob Reaume Sports, the Windsor-Essex Television office, and online.
